WHY DO A BIBLE STUDY?

Our thoughts are important.  We are who we think we are.

It is, important to realize that, what we think we are, we will be or become.  We all have set or pre-established thoughts, traditions, expectations, goals, patterns or ways of doing things, which reflects our attitudes and our level of understanding.  We will believe what we think before we believe what someone else telling us.

Proverbs 23:7  For as he thinks in his heart, so is he:..

The word "thinks" means -

To act as gate-keeper,

We are gatekeepers of our minds, as we allow ourselves to think on something.

Philippians 4:8 says, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

We must keep our minds focused on positive things.  Positive words are found in the Bible.

We need guidance and direction.

1.  God has the answers.  God is the source of wisdom and understanding.

Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally.  Wisdom shall be given to him.

2.  God will lead, guide, and direct us

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps.

3.  God's Words will last forever.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades: but the Word of our God shall stand for ever.
